Amazing story Geoff. I enjoyed every word every syllable. Thank you. This makes me look forward to your book even more and intrigues me about people I may not know
I'm not writing. Maybe one day. Gwen, however, has published 13 novels so far. Her first was in 2013. She and her hubs recently settled in Jersey, but they've been all over the place including a stint in Europe. You can find her on every platform out there and even sign up for a monthly email. Google her and all her will be listed.
I appreciate your storytelling, Geoffrey. This story flows so well; listening to it sounds almost as if you are telling the story to a single listener. Bravo!
Oh, I love this. I love the awakening that is subtle but all the more powerful because it's about awakening down to that one more layer that really matters. I love the shared experience of life - an experience that's different but still the same, still shared. And finally, I love how the ending is filled with possibility yet not spoon fed to readers or to the characters. We all get to decide.
Thanks so much Cinse. I just finished a revision to Hiram Falls — my agent wanted me to speed the front a bit but it turned into a major “tweak.” Syliva was a character I’d wanted to develop more and this story appeared in my tired little brain. This is what I came up with for the stage; the book version is a bit different.
Thanks for letting me read it. I am honored that the director of Vermont Stage is going to be the one to read it. Can’t wait to hear her interpretation.
Sylvia and Vincenté and talking for hours, getting to the root of living again. I wanted this for Sylvia throughout her earlier life. Thanks for another Winter Tale, gg.
I have just finished another revision of Hiram Falls; my agent is sending it out again (some to the editors who didn’t respond, some to new publishing houses) and she thought the beginning needed speeding up. So removed Carrie’s diaries, moved it up to start in 1948, killed Jenna (Lavender is now Grace’s mom), developed Sylvia more and put the rest in the Tweakanator. When I was asked to write another story for Winter Tales, I decided that maybe this story would work, though it’s a little different in the book.
Are you going to Winter Tales this year? G & I are going Saturday night.
Sylvia and then Vincent. Loved this piece. I was on a plane flying from Ohio back to Vermont after attending a wedding. A man and woman, strangers, sat in front of us. They talked the entire flight. At one point, she said laughing, “is there anything else you’d like to know?” He was French Canadian, a hockey coach, and handsome When they landed, they introduced themselves. “My name is Margaret.” The man said “I am Michel.”
Geoffrey!
This is wonderfully descriptive and tender. Enjoyed it immensely.
Thanks so much Peter. That means a lot coming from you. Hope you’re music is going well.
Your stories are gems that burnish the day with a sudden, unexpected sparkle. Thank you.
Oh gosh, Shari. Thank you so much. You make my heart flutter.

Thank you so much, Merrily. So glad you read it and so glad you commented. Thanks.
(And take care of that cough; I had mine for over a month. It finally went away when I stopped and laid low, something hard for the both of us, no?!)
